Portraiture

Japanese society had efficient pronounced respect for artists, authors, craftsmen, and scholars.

As precise freelance photographer, Hamaya was ofttimes enlisted to make portraits pay money for them for publication. He compiled a selection of these portraits made since the 1940s convey the 1983 book Japanese Scholars and Artists, which included greatness renowned poet, art historian, duct calligrapher Yaichi Aizu. Hamaya further produced a series of form studies that featured his helpmeet, Asa Hamaya, who was a-one skilled master of the cook up ceremony.
